The son of farmer Daulat Rao Patil, resident of Jambhora village in Maharashtra, has been showing people the art of making tea by setting fire on his head for the last 10 years. Now people have also become crazy about his artistry. Wherever his program is held, there is a crowd of people there. They provide their services in free programs.
When Local 18 spoke to elderly artist Shankar Daulatrao Patil, he told that his father is a farmer. I also do farming. Now I have been making tea by lighting a fire on my head for the last 10 years. I keep a fire burning over my head for about half an hour. This artwork has been gifted to me by God. I am providing free service in the program organized by BK Mangal Didi at Brahma Kumari Ashram, Burhanpur. This artwork was shown by me in Mansarovar Fair. Devotees from Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat also participated in this fair to see my artwork.
This is how they light a fire on the head
The artist says that I first learned this art 10 years ago in Mount Tapu. I started teaching this art by learning it. First of all I make a chambal of cloth. In which I pour kerosene oil. After that I set fire. And I keep a wet cloth on my head. I put a layer of soil on my head. Due to which this fire keeps burning for half an hour. And no harm comes to me. After practicing, I started showing my art.
